mulligrubs (MUL-i-grubz) noun
1. Grumpiness; colic; low spirits.
2. An ill-tempered person.
It sounds like a word that you would read in a Dr.Seuss book, or in a fantasy book. :)

I'm tempted to be a mulligrubs (is it singular, despite ending with an 's'?) and point out that in Seuss, the 'e' precedes the 'u' :)
Hope things are going well in your world ...

I love it! :-) How funny!
JFC, I do thank you for the correction. :) It has been rectified... Things are going very well, thanks.
Deborah, I know I tried to think of a way to use it the day I found it and couldn't. It is fascinating though.
Natalie, Glad you liked it! Also it is great to hear from you and see that you are back and able to comment and post. Sounds like you have been keeping busy. That is good!!!
Thanks for the comments.

Ahhh, reminds me of childhood. Maybe it is a Kansas word because I remember it used when I was growing up.
I think librarians use it with their children.
