Quotes and Such

These are quotes I have read or heard over the last few months and I wanted to pass them on.
There are two kinds of injustice: the first is found in those who do an injury, and the second in those who fails to protect another from injury who can.
Roman Cicero, De Oft
Verily, verily I say to you unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies it bears much fruit. He who loves his life loses it.
John
Hateful to me as are the gates of Hades is that man who says one thing, and hides another in his heart.(Who dares think one thing , and another tell, My heart detests his as the gates of hell.
Greek, Homer Illiad
Choose loss rather than shameful gain.Greek.Chilon Fr.10

Make every effort to add to your godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

1 Peter 1:5-7

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility(desire to serve their best intrest) consider others (needs) better than yourself. Each of you should look not only to your own interes, but also to the interest of others to the glory glory of God the Father. (The priority and goal - to bless them so they can have more courage to serve God)

Phillipians 2:2-11

Each should use whatever gift he has receiveced to serve others.... so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 4:10-11

John 13:34-35

** The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. -Robert Louis Stevenson, novelist,
essayist, and poet(1850-1894)

A sense of individual identity is one of the greatest gifts that parents
can give a child. If that gift is not given, children will have to
fight for their identities instead.

Weaver

My life is but a weaving
Between my Lord and me,
I cannot choose the color
He worketh steadily.

Ofttimes He weaveth sorrow,
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And, I the underside.

Not till the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
In the weaver's skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

Tao Te Ching

The Pieces of a chariot are useless

unless they work in accordance with the whole.

A man's life brings nothing unless he lives in accordance with the whole universe

Playing one's part.

To give without seeking reward

To help without thinking it is virtuous

Therein lies great virtue

Tao Tzu

These are some quotes from Tao Te Ching, that I found thought provoking. We as human beings so often want to be the center of attention. We want to be rewarded (as it says above) for our work. I know I do. There is nothing wrong with being rewarded, but that should not be the reason for the act of kindness.

We also don't like to work as a whole or team. We want all the glory. When we don't work as a team we throw everything out of balance. Please let me know what you all think. I will add more when I get another chance:)

He Maketh No Mistake

My Father's way may twist and turn,
My heart may throb and ache,
But in my soul I'm glad I know,
He maketh no mistake

My cherished plans may go astray,
My hopes may fade away,
But still I'll trust my LORD to lead
For He doth know the way

Tho' night be dark and it may seem
That day will never break;
I'll pin my faith, my all in Him,
He maketh no mistake.

There's so much now I cannot see,
My eyesight's far too dim;
But come what may, I'll simply trust
And leave it all to Him.

For by and by the mist will lift
And plain it all He'll make.
Through all the way, tho' dark to me,
He made not one mstake.

21st Birthday

Wow! What a great day. I did not expect my birthday to be even near as wonderful as it was. The 18th (the day before) 2 of my friends brought me to a movie. We saw Christmas with the Kranks. It was hilarious!!:) I would definitely recommend it. During the movie Mr. Krank learns the meaning of giving without strings attached, and the true meaning of Love. It is not only very funny, but also very touching. Afterwards, we went to Starbucks. The best place to go for relaxation and a great enviroment to talk. The 3 of us had a much needed talk. The 3 of us have known each other for over 12 years. We all had festive coffees (Gingerbread Latte, Egg Nog Latte, and Peppermint Mochas). They were all awesome!

I have got to go back and try some of the other ones. They have some really yummy sounding flavors (Pumpkin Spice Latte) Ummmm.

Anyway, we had a great time and I was blessed by thier thoughtfulness and friendship.

I also had a friend set up this Blog for me, and I love it. It was a wonderful gift!!

Mom is in the hospital, and I spent the night with her. We read Father Brown, which was a blast. We haven't had time to read together for a long time. We had a great time talking and flipping through the channels. It is amazing how many channels there are without anything worth watching on them. Besides that, we still had a great time. At midnight we had a soda and I had a candy bar and we remembered some of our funny stories, weird years, and hard learning experinces. I had a perfect night!!:)

The 19th (my birthday), I took all of my siblings to Church. We had a good service and then lunch & fellowship. Amber, a friend made me a birthday cake and another friend (Christopher) had everyone sing Happy Birthday. It was embarassing, but very sweet and thoughtful. I was very touched by everyones thoughtfulness.:)

Dad took me to shop and bought me a beautiful watch. I love it!!! He helped me pick it, which made it very special. We also went to The Olive Garden, which was wonderful. I always enjoy the food there. We had a very special time talking, and laughing. We also tried some new things;)
