Last Minute Shopping

Today is the last day that I can get items purchased on my stores to customers by Christmas.

It was really cool over the weekend I downloaded the Etsy app on my Iphone to see what it was all about and I had two people contact me and then purchase items because of the great features on the app. Normally I would not have know someone contacted me until I had a chance to sit back down in front of my computer, but with the app....I knew right away that I had been contacted, I was able to respond quickly and give them the information they needed to make their purchases, so they can arrive by Christmas. I love the new Iphone App and being able to talk to people quickly and efficiently is wonderful.

I am shipping out a package today and if any other orders come in early enough I will be shipping them today too.

I designed this baby hat with earflaps the other day and I was working on it and making great progress. I thought I would be able to get it to my photographer today and then I realized I was not going to have enough yarn. I am so bummed, because I really wanted this one on Etsy and Artfire soon. I am hoping to find the yarn soon and finish quickly. I love how the yarn is showing off the cables and seed stitch. My husband loves seed stitch and is always suggesting I add it to a design. I really like the way this one is looking. I have been working on this design for the last few days. I have wanted to make a teddy bear hat since last winter. I am really happy with the way these turned out. I made two slightly different types of ears and the two sizes. The smaller size is for newborns and the ears are hollow, the larger is for 3-9 months and the ears and flat with the bottom pulled together to make the ear curl in slightly.

This one is the smaller size, should fit newborn to 3 months.

This is the larger one and has the flat ears. Should fit 3-9 month old little ones.

This is a reversible mobius. It will have 3 buttons to connect it. I love the way it turned out with the cables and space. I made this one with an Alpaca and Acrylic blend. It is really soft and should be warm. I am looking forward to getting pictures of it on someone and then post it.

These next 2 infinity scarves are really neat and I am happy with the way they turned out. I like the color in this one. it reminds me of the sea.

This is probably my favorite one! I love the color and the way the detail is showed up in this one.

Hand Knit Purple Celtic Cabled Fingerless Gloves

Today I designed and knitted a giraffe baby hat. it will fit a newborn and is so cute. I am trying to decide if I need to make the ears and horns a little longer. I would appreciate your input. I am really happy with the way it turned out though! I hand knit the hat with cotton and it feel great! I am really looking forward to seeing it on a newborn baby.

Yarn Shopping!!!

I was able to go yarn shopping the other day with my husband and sister. Here are some of the beautiful yarns that I came back with.

This is probably my favorite yarn, it is super soft and I just want to sit and hold it.

I love how vibrant the red is and it is really soft.

I am hoping to make an infinity scarf out of this. It is fluffy and soft and should be warm and cozy.

I am wanting to make another infinity scarf out of this yarn and can't wait to see how it turns out!

I just love the way that this yarn looks, is should look stunning knitted up.

I am really looking forward to seeing how these yarns knit up. They are cottons!

This one is so soft and I am thinking a bear hat would be really cute!

Wonderful Weekend

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. My husband and I got to go shopping in the afternoon and I bought some yarn and stuff to "spiff up my tags". :-) I will take some pictures of the new tags, once I get them made. I am really excited about the new yarn and tags. I also was able to finish a pair of fingerless gloves that I was working on. Yay!!! Today I am working on another pair of fingerless gloves, I will try to take a picture for on here and post about them. They are turning out really nice so far.

I would also like to get your input. I have some more of the blue sparkle yarn and would love to hear what kind of gloves you think I should knit with it. I made it with Baby Bee yarn, which is acrylic and soft. It will be very easy to care for and will not bother a baby's head. You can machine wash it on cool water and dry it on a fluff cycle. I love how it looks with the colors and decorations all around us right now.

These first 3 photos are of blankets that I recently designed and knitted. I thought it would be neat to see what the pattern would look like in multi-colored and solid. I like both, but would love to hear what you all think. Which is your favorite?

This hat is made from a multicolor yarn and two solids with spakle. I love the way it turned out, it reminds me of a fairy. All the yarn is so soft!!! My girls loved it and want me to make one like it for them . :-)

This hats is my first attempt at curly-cues on top. I love the way it turned out and can't wait to see how it looks on a little one. This one should fit a 1-3 year old. :-)

New Goal

This week I am working on finishing up a baby hat and starting fingerless gloves. My plan is to have a week dedicated to an item on Etsy. I will have a week of baby hats, where I will post a hat everyday and then blog about that hat. Then I will do a week of fingerless gloves the same way and so on. I am very excited and look forward to bringing you all new fun hats, gloves, sweater and blankets. I will continue to blog about the progress of all the items and the upcoming weeks for each set of items. Should be lots of fun!!! Keep watching! :-)

I have been knitting up a storm the last few weeks and can not believe how much I still have to do. I have finished 4 Christmas presents, 1 special order item, started another special order item, and finished about 10 or so other items for the craft fairs coming up this next weekend. I still have 2 special order items to finish, 4 Christmas presents and if I can get to it a few more little things for the craft fair on the 20th.

I love knitting and it is great when there is so much knitting to do, I am afraid I will not get it done (challenge) ;-)

If you do not have anything going on the 20th of November, I will be at a craft fair in Lamar and it should be a great craft fair. Lots of people and great hand crafted items. The lady that runs this fair does a good job making sure that well crafted items are shown and not everything else. :-)

I will try to post a few of the items that I most like. I am knitting the girls scarves with some really cool looking bright pink yarn the Kathryn actually picked out. Should be really cute and fun!!!

Wow

It is so hard to believe that it is already September. This summer has flown by, with weddings, and everyday life. We were privileged to see my brother and now beautiful wife get married as well as friends and cousins. We recently went to Huston to see our family there as well. It was so much fun!!! The girls loves all the new places and people and did really well with the car time. :-)

The girls are both doing really well, Natalya is trying to talk and doing really well. She is adorable! Kathryn has started preschool with me and we are having a lot of fun!!! She loves her school time. :-) Matt has started taking Ju Jitsu from a Brazilian man and really enjoys it. He is looking really good too!!! ;-) I have three craft fairs that I am putting my knitting into this fall. I am really excited! My sweet friend is taking pictures of a bunch of my knitting, so I will have new items on my Etsy site really soon too.

I will try to blog again soon with an update on us all.
